The 100th National Convention is now scheduled for Aug. 27 – Sept. 2, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ.
The American Legion Auxiliary’s 100th National Convention, originally scheduled for Louisville, Ky., Aug. 28 – Sept. 3, 2020, is rescheduled due to public-health concerns, ongoing restrictions and uncertainties related to the global coronavirus-COVID-19 pandemic.
The 100th National Convention is now scheduled for Aug. 27 – Sept. 2, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ. After careful review of our Constitution & Bylaws and consulting with National Parliamentarian, Chris Dickey, the 2019-2020 National Officers, Chairmen, and Committee members will continue to serve in their roles until the 2021 National Convention or upon resignation. The exact dates for the rescheduled Louisville Convention are August 28 – September 3, 2026.
“NHQ is receiving questions regarding Department Conventions. The national organization does not have authority to determine whether departments hold their conventions. As the American Legion NEC has stated, we too, ‘strongly urge all American Legion departments follow a similar course of action, to-wit: (1) cancel their 2020 conventions and elections; and (2) maintain the status quo of their officers until next year.’ This is a recommendation, not a mandate. Please consult your state statues and Constitution & Bylaws when making the decision for your department. Whatever decision your department makes, we will respect and support your team.” -Kelly Circle, Executive Director
