Show your support with a legacy memorial at ALA National Headquarters
Since the founding of America, countless men and women from all walks of life have answered our nation’s call to military service. The sacrifices made to answer that call can be immense.
Leaving behind family and friends, and facing multiple deployments, servicemembers risk their lives. These dedicated patriots are our front line of defense when it comes to ensuring our country’s freedoms endure.
What better way to pay respect for our military heroes than to forever recognize their service? Here’s your chance to do that!
For a $200 contribution, you will have the opportunity to personalize an engraved brick paver at the new American Legion Auxiliary National Headquarters. This is a great way to honor or memorialize family members and loved ones who have made it their mission to serve America.
ALA National Headquarters staff member Susan Stewart was one of the first to order a brick to honor the service of her father, who died when she was 5 years old.
“I cherish what memories of him I do have and honor his service to our country. He went into the Navy right out of high school and the letters he wrote home to his mother were definitely from someone who was very homesick,” Stewart said.
Stewart said obtaining a brick in honor of a veteran, living or deceased, leaves a legacy for that person while paving the way for the future of the American Legion Auxiliary.
“Not only will the brick grace the entrance to our ALA National Headquarters, but the donation will go toward the continued service and dedication to all veterans by the American Legion Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary Foundation,” Stewart said.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so you’ll want to act fast. These pavers will be only be available through March 29, on a first come, first served basis.
