  National Vice President
 
  Delegates at the 89th National Convention of the American Legion Auxiliary elected Carlene Ashworth as national vice president during the close of the organization’s convention in Louisville, Ky. Ashworth is a charter 43-year member of Edward H. White II Unit 521 in the Department of Texas. She is eligible for membership in the Auxiliary through the following: husband Ray E. Hall (deceased); husband Richard Ashworth (deceased) who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict; father Harold Morgan (deceased); son Kerry L. Hall, a life member of The American Legion; and granddaughter, Petty Officer 3rd Class Kathryn Hall. Ashworth has served in a variety of American Legion Auxiliary leadership roles at the local, state and national levels, including national chairman of the Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation, Children & Youth, Community Service, Membership, National Security, Education, Legislative, Leadership and Junior Activities committees. Ashworth has been an accountant most of her professional life. She was previously employed by Refrigerated Container Service as accounting/office manager for 15 years, retiring in 1999. She currently is employed with Dooley Tackaberry Inc. as accounts receivable administrator. Ashworth also has been a part-time Mary Kay Beauty consultant since 1966. She is the mother of two sons and grandmother to three granddaughters and one grandson. She has three sisters and one brother—all members of The American Legion Family.
