President Dwight "Ike" Eisenhower is presented with an American Legion Auxiliary poppy.
We believe that reflecting on where we have been and how far we have come is crucial in charting our course for the future. For more than nine decades, the women of the American Legion Auxiliary have been diligent in recording the history of our organization.
Historians at the unit, district, state, and national levels recount our activities and accomplishments. And every decade, we publish a book that chronicles the Auxiliary’s record of service "for God and country."
Our historians also help preserve the history of our country by participating in the national Veterans History Project, sharing the stories of their local veterans.
