Expressing the sense of the Senate that action ought to be taken to implement a no-fly zone over the nation of Syria to prevent human rights abuses.
IN THE SENATE OF GIRLS NATION
Senators Viens and Clark of Rhode Island submitted the following resolution.
Whereas international human rights violations and mass slaughter, including the use of chemical warfare by a nation against its own citizens, ought not to be suffered;
Whereas the United States of America has the military power to assist those opposing such violations of human rights through utilization of military aircraft;
Whereas it is in the interest of the Senate to promote democracy and safety for the benefit of the United States and other nations worldwide: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED,
(1) That a no-fly zone be instituted in the airspace above the nation of Syria.
(2) That United States air patrols be used to monitor said airspace.
(3) That assistance in enforcing flight restrictions be sought from United Nations
