To protect the privacy of Americans by restricting drone usage.
IN THE SENATE OF GIRLS NATION
Senators Daharsh and Slama of Nebraska introduced the following bill; which was referred to Committee .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF GIRLS NATION ASSEMBLED.
SECTION 1. TITLE
This act may be cited as the "Privacy Protection and Drone Control Act".
SECTION 2. PURPOSE
The Privacy Protection and Drone Control Act will prevent unlawful intrusion of privacy caused by drones.
SECTION 3. DEFINITIONS
A drone is an unmanned aircraft or ship that can be guided remotely that may contain surveillance equipment.
SECTION 4. PRIVACY PROTECTION AND DRONE CONTROL ACT
The Privacy Protection and Drone Control Act entails that:
(A) The government will not utilize drones for surveillance purposes unless a search warrant is obtained.
(1) Government employees found to be breaking this law will be tried as private citizens.
(B) Private citizens may not utilize drones to monitor people outside of their property without consent.
(1) Private citizens found to be breaking this law will be charged with misdemeanor invasion of privacy .
SECTION 5. EFEECTIVE DATE
This act shall be effective for all citizens of the United States on January 1, 2014.
