Let us pray, Heavenly Father, you seek abundance and joy for us and for all your children. One way that we can share your joy is through the gift of friendship. Help us to be loyal friends, Lord. Let us be ready to listen, ready to encourage, and ready to offer a helping hand. Keep us mindful that we are your faithful servants. Let us be a worthy servant Lord and a worthy friend. And, may the love of our Lord shine through us today and forever. Amen.

DON’T QUIT When things go wrong as they sometimes will, When the road you’re trudging seems uphill, When the funds are low and the debts are high, And you want to smile, but you have to sigh, When cares are pressing you down a bit, Rest if you must, but don’t quit! Life is strange with its twists and turns, As everyone of us sometimes learns, And many a failure turns about, When he might have won if he stick it out. Don’t give up though the pace seems slow, You may succeed with another blow. Success is failure turned inside out, The silver tint of the cloud of doubt. And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far. So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit, It’s when things get worse that you must not quit!
Lord your word has such healing power. Thank you for the promise that no matter how dark our days can be, you will never let us be lost or separated from your love and care. You will never allow us to suffer more than we can bear! Even more, you comfort us through your Holy Spirit and save us from having despairing hearts. Amen.

Sing a song for our unsung heroes. Say a prayer for their families. And praise their uncommon valor. Which is keeping our nation free. And we pray that our nation's leaders hear the "Voice of the People" say: "Bring us Peace!" Find an end to conflict. Let democracy pave the way. Please sing a song for our unsung heroes. Say a prayer for their families. Hold them, God, in Your gentle hands from now through eternity. Written by Kathy Eckman Wamic, Oregon Unit 135
